Using iTunes for Podcasting & Vidcasting

Abstract :
Podcasts are radio-like programs and vidcasts are video programs automatically distributed over the Internet by publishers to subscribers. They are time-shifted so that you can listen and view them when you want at your convenience. They are free and one of the best free programs for listening and viewing them is Apple's free iTunes program. They can be heard and viewed on your computer. They can also be transferred to portable devices such as the Apple iPod, an MP3 or video player. This presentation will show you how to find podcasts and vidcasts, how to subscribe to them, and how to view them with Apple iTunes.
Bio :
Sol a retired Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Programming. He has a BA from the City University of New York and an MS from Rutgers University. Sol is the author of 16 books, most on Personal Computer hardware and software design. Many have been translated into foreign languages. He has authored over 300 magazine articles that have appeared in more than 30 different magazines and journals. From 1975-1981 he was a monthly columnist in Byte magazine (for many years the leading Personal Computer magazine). From 1979-1987 he was the Editor of Microsystems Journal (a publication for computer hardware and software designers). For many years he was a member of the IEEE Computer Standards Committee developing PC hardware interface standards. He also served as a consultant to several companies on PC hardware and software design. Sol founded the Amateur Computer Group of New Jersey in early 1975. It is the oldest Personal Computer Club in the world. Sol served as ACGNJ President for many years. In 1976 Sol, together with Allen Katz, founded the Trenton Computer Festival. Sol is currently an instructor at Ewing SeniorNet teaching seniors how to get the most out of their personal computers.

The proliferation of inexpensive digital video cameras and faster systems has made many people interested in making their home videos into professional looking DVDs. Video Editing. We will walk through the capture of the video to the computer, editing, inserting a sound track, and getting it ready for the DVD.

Doug Ferguson is an avid video hobbyist. His goal is to rid the world of boring vacation and holiday videos. Doug has spoken four previous times at TCF, as well as the Intel Developer Forum, and Intel Communications Alliance Summit. In his day job, Doug is a Staff Technical Marketing Engineer with the Intel Digital Enterprise Group concentrating on communications applications.

DVD creation (Part 2)

Abstract :
The proliferation of inexpensive digital video cameras and faster systems has made many people interested in making their home videos into professional looking DVDs. DVD creation. We will use an inexpensive DVD creation package and the video produced in Part 1 to make a professional looking DVD with menus and even some hidden "Easter eggs" that you can send to friends and family.

Creating DVD Video Using Sony's DVD Architect Studio

Abstract :
This forum will be an introductory demonstration of taking a home video and putting it on to a DVD. Sony's DVD Architect Studio will be used for the discussion. Architect Studio is a consumer product with some professional capabilities. If time permits Microsoft's Window Movie Maker and other related products will be discussed.

Exploring Digital Video

Abstract :
Lisa Rysinger will present select topics from her book, Exploring Digital Video, which is part of the Design Exploration Series for Thomson-Delmar Learning. The presentation is intended for the digital video novice and will include an overview of current digital video technology, as well as a discussion of camera equipment, computer hardware, and popular editing programs. Topics will include how to evaluate digital video cameras, how to configure a computer editing system, and basic editing tips and techniques.
Bio :
Lisa Rysinger is the owner of VIDE Productions, Inc., a digital video production company that produces everything from television commercials to DVDs. She is the author of Exploring Digital Video, now in its second edition. Her upcoming titles include Exploring DV Software on the Mac and Exploring DVD Authoring. She also serves as a subject matter expert in designing digital video curriculums, teaches college classes, and conducts group lectures and seminars.
