Advanced Web Site Development using DHTML and CSS
by Barlow, GalaxE Solutions & ACGNJ Lotus Notes UG
Abstract :
Ever see some snazzy web site do "fancy things" very fast? Things like showing or hiding blocks of text and/or images without making a laborious round trip back to the server? Such things are possible by using Dynamic HTML coding (DHTML) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). With DHTML and CSS some of the neatest effects can be done on the web (Want to see a fade out from one web page to the next - or have a web page slide up from the lower right corner of the screen?). Coding techniques, examples of effects and more will be presented, along with links to a web site. These code examples will help you do this wizardry on your own web pages.

Ajax and Web 2.0
by Barlow, GalaxE Solutions & ACGNJ Lotus Notes UG
Abstract :
The term Web 2.0 was started last year at a conference and has taken hold on the media and market place. Likewise AJAX (short for Asynchronous Javascript and XML) is considered by some to be one of the core technologies for "Next Generation" web applications. Come take a look at some of the applications which are already out there, which are forming the basis for the "World Wide Web Next Generation", and at the same time find out how YOU can get a foot up on developing your own AJAX applications in a "technology neutral" (e.g. NOT J2EE, NOT PHP, NOT ASP or .NET) Forum. Warning: a basic knowledge of Javascript and HTML will be advantageous to fully understand this presentation, but is not required.
